One of the words that's been coming up a lot that seems to get misunderstood is "de facto" so I thought I'd take a minute to explain this...

And it leads to a new post which I'll get to after that.

De facto basically means "in practice" as apposed to "in law" so it's basically a description of how things are in reality.

You can even think of it as de fact (the fact).

In law the opposite of de facto is de jure (in law).

That's really all the Latin I had planned for today's lesson (Friday is the de facto "short day of school" right?)

Kind of a mouthful for sure - some weekend reading. Obviously not very light reading but important if you like to know what's going on.

Btw I know this stuff is pretty heavy which is why I intend to change Friday back to Funny Friday very soon with some comedy. But don't worry, we'll be injecting good information into the laughs!

After all with how absolutely crazy things have become we all pretty much need more laughs right about now...
